Down to You
(The Bad Boys #1)
by M. Leighton
Contemporary New Adult Romance
The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not. Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white. But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.
Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her. Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.
Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them. Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?
I absolutely LOVED this book!! I started off by reading “A Pocketful of Sand” by M. Leighton. Afterwords, I had to see what else she wrote because I just fell in love with the way she writes. That is when I found the PHENOMENAL “Bad Boys” series…
This book just captivated me from the very first chapter. I thought it was so HILARIOUS when her and her friends ordered a STRIPPER! lol… This of course follows with some interesting actions on Olivia’s part. After this, I just couldn’t put the book down. I don’t want to tell you guys exactly EVERYTHING that happened, but I will tell you that she takes his clothes off so awkwardly. he he…
I was reading this book with some high expectations because I have heard about the AMAZING WONDERFUL Michelle Leighton. I am happy to say and astonished to say that she has met my expectations rather formally. She sky rocketed them, literally. I do not say this often either, so if you are hearing me say it, then you know that I mean it. This book left me speechless!! The ending was just something I would have NEVER in a million years guessed. Don’t get me wrong, I was a little close sometimes on how I thought it would all play out, but never on point. It just shocked me, and then when it was over, all I wanted was just MORE MORE of this series… The characters in this novel are also something so different then what I expected. They are so more intriguing then I thought they would be. I can not and will not tell you more because this is a part of the book you have to just read for yourself to see what I mean.
The main characters are named Olivia, Cash, and Nash. In the beginning of the book there is a LOVE TRIANGLE, which by the way I just absolutely LOVE!! I do not know why I love them so much, I know I am so weird. At first Olivia struggles for her feelings towards Cash and Nash. She just doesn’t know what to do. She likes them both so much. They are so much a like. <–(Not because their twins)… But in a totally different way.
Nash is a man with his head on his shoulders, and knows what he wants in life, so he is marriage material. He is going to school to become a lawyer. The only problem is, he is dating Olivia’s cousin Marissa. So that can be ideally so wrong on so many different levels.
Cash is the bad boy who every girl wants for a little while to play with. Cash also has his head on his shoulders but in a different kind of way. YES, he is a bad boy, but he also owns his own club called “Dual”.
They just couldn’t be any different, yet they are so much a like.
Olivia is a girl from a little town where she was raised on a sheep farm. Her mother left her a while back to live the city life. She left Olivia and Olivia’s dad behind to be with another man in the big city. She is going to school to be an accountant. Who the hell wants to be an accountant????? ha ha.. Anyways, she has been through so much with her crazy ex boyfriend down to her sick father who she cares for deeply, but he wants her to have her own life and finish college. She originally starts off by working at “Tad’s”, which is a little bar near where she used to live with her father. The commute though back and forth is just ridiculous. She knows the pay is good though, she tries to stay there and work as much as she can. That is until she gets a new offer to work with Cash at his club. She can bartend there for two dollars more an hour than what she makes working at Tad’s. So, she does just that. What can go wrong? It is just a job that pays more and is real close to her school and her new home.
This book, to me, was just a phenomenal 5 star read! The story line and characters were so well written. There is nothing at all in this story that I would have changed. Michelle Leighton did an amazing job writing this novel. I can not wait to read MORE of this Bad Boy series. I am going now to read the second book in the series, and I will let you know as soon as I am done because I will be raving about it so much. lol… I will leave my review when I am finished. So hope to tell you some more of this series VERY SOON!!

I was born and raised in the United States, and I’ve lived in several of the fabulous fifty. Though I currently live in the deep South, I spent much of my childhood up North and hope to return there one day. A few other things about me: I believe that sometimes you have to look really, REALLY hard to find the good in people, but it’s there. I believe that I’m shrinking (I swear five years ago I was two inches taller). I believe my husband is quite possibly one of the most amazing men in the entire world (I can’t be sure because I haven’t met all of them). I believe coffee and chocolate, when combined, could be the basis for world peace. I believe that Jesus rocks and communism doesn’t. I believe that white makes me look fat and black collects lint. I believe summer’s too hot, winter’s too cold and fall was made for football. I like dogs better than cats and the first movie in a trilogy is invariably the best. But most of all, I believe that love conquers all.
